NYE WILLDEN, artist

Nye Willden studied portrait and landscape painting at the Art Student’s League in New York as well as graphic and advertising art at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York. He has sold paintings both to private collectors as well as to businesses in New York, the Virgin Islands, Florida and throughout the United States.

While enjoying a long career in publishing he continued to pursue studying and painting both in oil and acrylics on canvas both in New York City, Miami, Florida and presently at the Desert Art Center in Palm Springs.

His commissions and sales have included portraits, landscapes and animal portraits for collectors throughout the United States.

Nye’s work has been shown at the Coral Gables Art and Culture Center in Coral Gables, FL, at a group show at the Biltmore Hotel Gallery in Coral Gables and at the Desert Art Center Gallery in Palm Springs.

He is presently studying and painting at the Desert Art Center with instructors Elaine Mathews, Terry Masters and Carolyn Hawley.

A versatile painter of landscapes, animals and people he is inspired by both the 20th century post impressionists of Europe as well as contemporary artists of the American West and particularly of California.
